Five months after his dismissal from LASPOTECH, Ahmed Amoo and his gang reportedly stormed the school on Tuesday with guns and machetes.
A security officer at the Lagos State Polytechnic, LASPOTEC has reportedly killed a student suspected to be cultist on Tuesday, February 2018.
The 20-year-old student, Ahmed Amoo, who was said to have been dismissed from the institution five months ago reportedly stormed the school on Tuesday evening with people described as his gang.
According to the Nation, Amoo and his gang invaded the gathering of new students who were having orientation night and robbed them of their money phones and other valuables.
Nigerian News Agency also reports that the gang invaded the new students' gathering from different directions with guns, knives and machetes.
A source that spoke to the Nation said “as the cultists were robbing the students, the security men were alerted and they rushed to the scene. When the robbers saw the security men, they fled but they were chased and two of them, Ayewunmi Daniel and Rilwan Adewale were arrested''.
“The security men went after Amoo and they tried to disarm him. He was holding a battle axe and when he resisted, they shot him on the leg.
“He was eventually taken to Ikorodu General Hospital where he died early yesterday. Some of the items they stole from the students were recovered.”

Also reacting to the incident, LASPOTECH spokesman, Olanrewaju Kuye said the Amoo and his gang shot at will when they saw the school security officials coming for them, adding that the security men had no choice than to retaliate.
“Unfortunately, we hit one of the hoodlums, Ahmed Amao, a former student who had been expelled for examination malpractice. We learnt he died on Wednesday,’’ He said.
Meanwhile, Amoo's parents have reportedly been invited to the school to be briefed about the incident.
